Mamiweb.de is the biggest online network for mothers and expectant women in German-speaking countries. This special-interest network, which was launched in May, 2007, is aimed at mothers and all people who are interested in the theme of family and children. Within approximately one year of its launch it already boasts a registered membership of 185,000. On Mamiweb, users find topical reports on the themes of children, family and pregnancy, with the authors coming from both the membership and the editorial team of Mamiweb. The emphasis at Mamiweb is on the exchange of information and sharing of experiences among users: the features include questions to the network community, the compilation of photo albums or the exchange of images, the insertion of free advertisements, the chat room and the formation of regional and thematic groups.
